Welcome to my Inaugural Blog Post for the new Open Doors Organizing Website! I hope you will find this space to be a respite from the day-to-day grind, chock full of fun tips and product suggestions to make organizing as fun for you as it is for me! I encourage comments and questions, so don’t be shy!

Are you an 80’s child? Do you remember this cat? Yep, it’s Garfield!
Why am I bringing up Garfield, you might ask? Well, for one, he is well known for hating Mondays, and doesn’t gearing up to work from home feel like a case of the Mondays…almost every day?

I am also bringing up Garfield, because one of my earliest memories of shopping for back to school was getting my Garfield Trapper Keeper! I know a lot of you may have had one too!
Do you remember when you were in elementary school, going back-to-school shopping? Personally, I loved it! Picking different colors for each subject, from the binder, to the spiral bound notebook, to the folders. That seasonal excitement stayed with me through my final year of college!
Let’s see if we can bring that excitement to your day to day life now! Whether it’s for your kids who are embarking on virtual schooling this fall, or you needing a refresh from your bland surroundings, color might just add some pep to your step!
Upon seeing my new website, I’m sure most of you can guess that my favorite color is turquoise! Well, I have lots of turquoise all over the house, but in my office, I have turquoise notebooks, turquoise pens and sip water from my turquoise water bottle!

What is your favorite color? If you have one, which I’m sure you do, then I’m sure you have lots of items in that color throughout your home! You don’t need to go out shopping. Instead, go on a scavenger hunt and find pieces that would work in your office setup. That doesn’t just mean office supplies. It can be artwork, a throw blanket for your chair for the upcoming winter chill, or a cool lampshade! Play around, there are no rules, no office guidelines to conform to, and you’ll never ever, have to worry about someone taking your stapler, well, not co-workers anyway!
